A Place For Her (La maison des femmes)

The Saint-Denis shelter welcomes women who have been victims of physical, sexual, and psychological violence. Here, they find a safe space and are given the opportunity to restore their dignity. Every day, staff members Diane, Manon, Inès, and Awa offer a listening ear, medical assistance, and legal support. They operate as a strong, cohesive team, even though it sometimes throws them off balance.

‘La maison des femmes’ is the first feature film from director Mélisa Godet. This poignant social drama about violence, recovery, and solidarity has an impressive cast featuring Karin Viard (‘Haut les cœurs!’), Laetitia Dosch (‘Jeune femme’), Oulaya Amamra (‘Divines’), and Eye Haidara (‘Samba’) in the leading roles.
