Whitetail

When her childhood sweetheart Oscar returns after years of absence, Jen is forced to confront her past. By day, she works as a park attendant in the vast forest in the south of Ireland, but by night she battles with strange and painful memories. It’s becoming increasingly clear that the tragedy that once drove Jen and Oscar apart still determines what happens in and around the dark woods. The Dutch filmmaker Nanouk Leopold shows that the line between guilt, grief, and anger can easily become blurred. ‘Whitetail’ is a thriller brimming with tension, both inside the main character’s head and in the authentic Irish forest landscape. The film was nominated for a Gold Hugo award at the Chicago International Film Festival.
