Tayfun is a Turkish funeral director from Genk. His work focuses mainly on Islamic funerals with the option to repatriate to the country of origin. While he supports the families in their grief and sorrow, he handles the practical arrangements. Tayfun is a true professional with ambition, but every death makes him reflect on his own life. In which two square meters does he want to be buried when his time comes? Will he choose the Turkish soil of his homeland or the Belgian soil, his new home?

The documentary ‘2m²’ is the result of a Turkish, German, and Belgian collaboration. Director Volkan Üce explores the fundamental question of identity and a “feeling home” within two cultures.
