Linda’s life is literally falling apart. The ceiling of her house collapses. On top of that, her daughter struggles with a mysterious eating disorder and her husband has been away from home for two months. When a patient in crisis disappears on her job as a therapist, she has had enough. Linda seeks refuge with a colleague, but she cannot really count on understanding. How long can she sustain this situation?
‘If I Had Legs I’d Kick You’, was written and directed by Mary Bronstein, who found inspiration for the film in her own life. The film reflects on themes such as motherhood, physical instability, and the pressure to perform. Following its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, it enjoyed a successful run at the Berlin Film Festival, where it won the Silver Bear for Best Acting Performance for Rose Byrne.
