23-year-old Luana works in a daycare center and lives with her mother. She is anything but happy with her boring life, till her nephew Domi appears. He is part of a black-metal band WLVS and he recruits Luana to join them on tour as their social media manager. Life on the road is gritty but captivating. Luana quickly falls head over heels for the charming frontman Wiktor. However, when Wiktor is accused of extremism, the band’s unity is immediately threatened.
‘Wolves’ is the feature film debut of Jonas Ulrish, who also wrote the screenplay and handled the editing. For concert scenes, he organised several performances with existing bands with for example the Belgian Amenra and the fictive band WLVS as the opening act. The film explores the thin line between passion and fanaticism and premiered in the competition at Zurich Film Festival.
