During the Ostend Film Festival (FFO), talented makers can follow an extensive course in our industry section: from pitch, to scenario, to finished project.

With our FFO Talents section, we want to...

  • Scout, launch and provide a platform for young filmmakers
  • Make FFO the ultimate meeting place for (Flemish) film professionals
  • Invest in the future and build relationships with future creators
  • Captivate the audience for the future of Flemish cinema

The Student Pitch powered by Sabam

Film is a wonderful but expensive medium. FFO wants to give future filmmakers a helping hand! Are you a film student and can you use a little push for the production of your Bachelor or Master film?

The Student Pitch

Short film competition

Many young talents take their first steps in the film industry through short films. The Ostend Film Festival also gives new makers the chance to present fresh, surprising and aesthetic productions to the general public and, since 2018, organises a competition for Flemish short films.
